Z Updates in Pediatric Dysphagia

Note: You will have until March 30, 2024 to complete and review the course material. This webinar will not be accessible after this date.

Description: The incidence of dysphagia in pediatrics is increasing, creating a greater need for evidence-based assessments and interventions. In spite of this, there is limited evidence to support treatment in this population. This webinar focuses on how researchers look to identify and classify dysphagia in children and how clinicians can apply principles from evidence-based assessment and treatment of dysphagia in the adult population. Course topics will include strategies for improving posture and stability for swallowing, evidence-based principles to assess swallowing in pediatric patients, and principles of motor learning to treat pediatric dysphagia.

Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify one strategy for improved posture and stability for swallowing
  • Select evidence-based principles to assess swallowing in pediatric patients
  • Apply principles of motor learning to treatment of pediatric dysphagia
