Aging & Cognition: Interdisciplinary Management of Dementia Syndromes
DESCRIPTION
In this 90-minute webinar, the presenter will explain the clinical and pathophysiological differences between Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Dementia of the Alzheimer’s Type (DAT), Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA) and Fronto-temporal Dementia (FTD). Course attendees will better understand the clinical characteristics of the various Dementia Syndromes. The presenter will apply an interdisciplinary overview to provide evidenced-based treatment to people with dementia. The presenter will also discuss the use of external memory aids, communication strategies, environmental modifications and caregiver training. Case presentations will be utilized to highlight the role of various interdisciplinary team members in treatment of dementia syndromes from a Life Participation Framework.

- Identify the key members and their roles on an interdisciplinary care team for treating dementia
