Rehabilitation Considerations for Individuals with History of Chronic Respiratory Disease
Description: The respiratory system is a complicated, vital component that allows individuals to complete an abundance of tasks throughout each day. When simple tasks such as dressing, mobility in the home and even the act of breathing become a straining task a dynamic interprofessional evaluation may be necessary to assist with return to daily living. This webinar aims to target those individuals with known chronic respiratory disease and review the facets of a comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation program to allow patients to improve their quality of life through exercise, education and symptom management.
Learner Outcomes: Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Explain the pathophysiology related to chronic respiratory disease and its impact on movement
- Evaluate a patient with secondary diagnosis of stable chronic respiratory disease in the inpatient rehab, outpatient, or home health settings
- Develop a safe and effective plan of care, including exercise prescription, for a person with stable chronic respiratory in the inpatient rehab, outpatient, and home health settings
