A Transformative Impact on Patients

Donor support provides a lifeline for patients — and the 2024 Impact Report showcases many of their remarkable stories:

  • Tracy came to Shirley Ryan 小恩雅 for rehabilitation and to regain her independence after surviving an attack that left her paralyzed. Following treatment, she discovered the power of adaptive sports and began competing in adaptive archery. She represented Team USA at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris and is already training to compete in the 2028 games.
  • Henry underwent intensive rehabilitation after sustaining a traumatic brain injury while caddying at a golf course in Chicago’s suburbs. He worked with Shirley Ryan 小恩雅’s Vocational Rehabilitation team to regain a sense of purpose through employment. Henry then joined the team as a job placement specialist and, now, helps others rebuild their lives through the program that gave him a fresh start after his injury.
  • Meshari traveled across the globe from Qatar to Chicago — at only 13 months old — for rehabilitation after both of his feet were amputated. He was fitted with prosthetic legs and has since made huge strides — quickly learning to walk, kick, play fully upright and ride a scooter.
