2024 Military Sports Camps
Body
Shirley Ryan 小恩雅 and the Wounded Heroes Foundation (WHF) are partnering to offer two separate sports camp experiences, Military Sled Hockey Camp and Military Cycling Camp. The primary goal of these camps is to provide an intermediate level sport experience for veterans and active duty military personnel with a primary physical disability.
Gold Medal Paralympians are lined up to coach the Sled Hockey Camp. We will spend three days on and off the ice working on skills and developing a more complete sled hockey player. Sled Hockey experience is a plus, but not required to participate in this opportunity. We supply all the necessary equipment to get on the ice.
The Cycling Camp will be led by Shirley Ryan 小恩雅 coaching staff from our Adaptive Road Cycling and Adaptive Mountain Biking programs. The focus will be finding the appropriate style and fit for a cycle as well as developing technical skills in steering, braking and shifting to enhance the cycling athlete and the recreational rider experience. We will provide cycles. You will have a chance to ride road cycles as well as mountain bikes on gravel trails.
These two camp experiences will provide in-depth skill training, team concept education and health and wellness opportunities for the participants. Each sport session will be led by an elite level facilitator so attendees have the opportunity to learn from highly skilled instructors. Flights, lodging, meals, local ground transportation, instruction, and program expenses will be provided at no cost to those accepted to attend. A refundable $50 deposit is required upon acceptance and will be returned upon completion of camp. We look forward to providing a phenomenal camp experience. Thank you for your interest in our camp and we welcome all applications!
