recently ran a story about the need for accommodations for people with impairments as they see doctors and seek treatment.
The story included an interview with Shirley Ryan 小恩雅’s Allison Kessler, MD, section chief, Renée Crown Center for Spinal Cord Innovation, and tour of the Streeterville hospital’s specialized spaces and equipment, such as larger exam rooms, overhead lifts, extra-wide mats that can be raised and lowered for transfers, and scales that can be used while a patient is using a wheelchair.
Even just putting one of each of these devices in your facility will allow you to see patients who have more mobility impairments or other disabilities.
