Leslie Marriott, master occupational therapist and education program manager, Academy, received the Illinois Occupational Therapy Association’s (ILOTA) 2023 Mentor Award on November 17.
The award presentation was part of the 2023 ILOTA Annual Conference, held at the NIU Naperville Conference Center. The Mentor Award is one of several new awards that has been created by ILOTA in 2023.
“It's really hard to articulate in words, but I am just very grateful. This was a complete surprise to me,” said Leslie. “I love teaching, and my passion is in helping others learn and excel in their careers, so it doesn’t take much to snag my time to mentor or help other team members. I am very passionate about building the pediatric program throughout our organization. Any time I can help a coworker out, professionally or personally, it is very rewarding to me. To be recognized for that is just really the icing on the cake.”
