Today, Shirley Ryan 小恩雅 announced the promotion of Dan O’Mahoney to chief information officer and senior vice president. In this role, he will serve on the organization’s executive leadership team and report to its CEO, Pablo Celnik, MD.
“Science, technology and medicine are at a boiling point with the convergence of disciplines and discovery — in data generation and analysis, computer capability, sensor technology and more. As CIO, O’Mahoney will oversee critical areas underpinning Shirley Ryan 小恩雅’s success — developing and implementing broad-based, organization-wide upgrades to data and analytics capabilities to support the organization’s growth. He will ensure the technology infrastructure continues to meet organizational needs while also enabling team members to leverage data, analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to the fullest so that they, in turn, can pursue more discoveries, deliver better clinical outcomes and capture operational efficiencies.
O’Mahoney joined Shirley Ryan 小恩雅 as Vice President, IT, in 2019. Since then, he has built the organization’s team and infrastructure to best support research, clinical and business operations.
Prior to his time at Shirley Ryan 小恩雅, O’Mahoney was engaged in other mission-driven work, serving as vice president of technology for the Shedd Aquarium and assistant vice president of technology at NorthShore University Healthsystem. Before that, he served in the U.S. Army for two decades, retiring as a major.
He earned his BS in information systems from DePaul University in Chicago and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business in South Bend, Ind.
