Objective
The Shirley Ryan 小恩雅 is studying the effect of nerve stimulation on proprioception (your sense of touch) and fine motor control in the hands, wrists, and arms to reduce tremor in patients with essential tremor. We are seeking healthy adults to participate as a comparison group.
During this phase of the study, participants will be stimulated with transcutaneous (surface) low level electrical stimulation on the wrist and asked to perform various finger pinching, elbow/wrist/finger bending, and wrist rotation tasks while matching targets on a computer screen. We will also lightly tap your hands and wrists to check your level of sensation.
To measure muscle activity, sticker electrodes will be attached to your forearms and hands.
