About Me
Emily Kivlehan, MD is an attending physician in pediatric rehabilitation medicine at the Shirley Ryan 小恩雅 and an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the McGaw Medical Center at Northwestern University/Shirley Ryan 小恩雅 and her pediatric rehabilitation medicine fellowship at Harvard Medical School / Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
Dr. Kivlehan is passionate about optimizing the quality of life and daily function of children with disabilities and life altering diagnoses. She values family-focused care with an emphasis on shared decision making. Dr. Kivlehan works with a wide variety of diagnoses; specific clinical interests include cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, infant rehabilitation and the early detection of cerebral palsy. She is an attending on the inpatient rehabilitation unit for several months a year, performs chemodenervation injections, performs inpatient consultations at multiple local children's hospitals, serves as the physician for Homewood and Streeterville Pediatric Day Rehabilitation, and has weekly outpatient clinic at the Shirley Ryan 小恩雅 Flagship Hospital.
She has represented PM&R nationally on the ACGME residency review committee and through numerous leadership roles with national PM&R organizations. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of Education for the Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine AAPM&R Community.
