The mission is to help children and adults with physical challenges and learning differences reach their full potential through the practice of karate. Karate, which is a martial arts discipline, helps individuals improve physical, cognitive, and emotional health, as well as develop self-defense skills.

During the group classes, teachers work with children, youth, and adults to focus their minds, bodies, and spirits. Through a series of techniques the specially trained teachers help the students focus on muscle memory, balance, coordination, strength, posture, and control. They also provide guidance for the students--many of whom have disabilities--to use positive thinking and to have courage, confidence, determination, and commitment no matter what their physical or emotional/cognitive situations may be.

The Foundation provides scholarships for special needs students who want to enroll in the karate program, which is held at the North Shore Dojo in Glenview, Illinois.
